Privacy
This page describes what btcdcacalculator.com actually does, checked against the code that builds it rather than copied from a template. Where something is out of our hands, it says so.

The short version. There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. The site runs no analytics of any kind. It sets no cookies of its own. It stores exactly one thing in your browser: whether you chose the light or dark theme. The calculator runs inside your browser, so the numbers you type are not sent anywhere to be worked out. Advertising is served by Google, and Google's rules apply to that part.
What we collect
Nothing, directly. There is no account to create, no newsletter, no comment box and no form that sends anything to us. We do not ask for your name, your email address or anything else, and there is no database on our side with a row for you in it.
The calculator runs in your browser
The amount, currency, schedule and dates you enter are handled by code running on the page. The price history it uses is a single file downloaded from this site once, and the arithmetic happens on your device. There is no server that receives your inputs and returns a result, because there is no server here at all beyond a host serving static files.
Your inputs do appear in the web address, which is deliberate — it is what makes a result shareable and reloadable. Two details are worth being precise about:
- With JavaScript enabled, the address bar is updated in place as you type. No request is made, so your inputs stay on your device.
- With JavaScript disabled, pressing Calculate submits the form the ordinary way, which loads this page again with your inputs in the address. That address is part of the request, so it does reach our host and appears in its logs (see below), exactly as any URL you visit does. We do not read those logs for that purpose, but we would be misleading you to claim the data never leaves the browser in that case.
Cookies and what is stored on your device
This site sets no cookies of its own — not for preferences, not for measurement, not for anything.
It stores a single item in your browser's local storage, under the name bdc.theme,
whose value is either light or dark. It exists so the page does not
flash the wrong colour scheme when you return. It is never transmitted anywhere, and clearing
your browser's site data removes it. If your browser blocks local storage — private mode in
Safari, for instance — the site still works; it simply forgets your choice.
Google's advertising code does use cookies. That is covered under advertising, below.
Analytics: there are none
This is unusual enough to spell out. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no Plausible, no Matomo, no Fathom, no tracking pixel, no web beacon and no event logging of any kind. No script on the page records which buttons you pressed, how far you scrolled or how long you stayed.
What we can see, we see because of the companies we use rather than anything we installed: our host reports aggregate request counts, and if you have ads enabled, Google's reporting shows aggregate page views. Neither identifies you to us, and neither is something we can turn off while continuing to use the service.
Who your browser talks to
Loading any web page means telling the servers involved your IP address. Here is the complete list for this site.
- Cloudflare Pages hosts the site. Every page, image and script comes from it, so it necessarily receives your IP address, browser type and the address you requested, and it keeps request logs of its own for delivering and protecting the site. Cloudflare may also set a security cookie as part of that protection; that is its doing, not ours, and we never read it.

CoinGecko (
api.coingecko.com) is asked once per page load for the current Bitcoin price shown in the header. -
Coinbase (
api.exchange.coinbase.com) is the fallback if that request fails, and its live feed (ws-feed.exchange.coinbase.com) supplies the ticking updates afterwards. - Google, for advertising, as described below.
The price requests carry nothing about you or your inputs — they ask "what is Bitcoin worth" and nothing else — but the companies answering them do see your IP address, as any server you contact does. All three are only contacted by scripts, so with JavaScript disabled your browser talks to nobody but the host.
Those services have their own privacy policies, and this one cannot speak for them.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google's ad
script is loaded on every page, and /ads.txt is published to identify us as the
legitimate seller of this inventory.
- Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve, measure and cap the frequency of ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other sites.
- We never send Google your calculator inputs, and we have no access to any profile it holds about you. What we receive is an aggregate earnings report.
- You can review and change what Google shows you at Google's My Ad Center, read Google's advertising policies, or see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Industry-wide opt-outs are available at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop the site working.
Where the law requires it, a consent prompt is shown before personalised advertising cookies are used, and your choice is recorded by that consent tool rather than by us.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing here to access, correct, export or delete — there is no record with your name on it to act on. If you want to exercise rights over data held by Google or Cloudflare, those requests have to go to them directly, using the links in their own policies.
You can remove everything this site has put on your device by clearing site data for btcdcacalculator.com in your browser.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Links to other sites
Where this site links out, the destination is governed by its own policies. We have no control over what other sites collect.
Changes
If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. Material changes — a new third party, a new kind of data — will be described here rather than absorbed quietly into a longer document.
